Factores asociados a la hemorragia digestiva alta

Abstract
Las enfermedades comórbidas pueden influir en el tratamiento del paciente en el contexto de una hemorragia digestiva alta aguda, haciendo susceptibles de padecer anemias, sobrecarga de volumen, requerir transfusiones sanguíneas incluso aspiración gastrointestinal y difícil manejo El objetivo del estudio fue determinar los factores asociados a la hemorragia digestiva alta en los pacientes de un hospital en Ecuador. Es un estudio de tipo observacional, de corte transversal, incluyó a 87 pacientes hospitalarios durante el periodo del 1 de junio del 2017 al 1 de junio del 2018. Se utilizaron medidas de tendencia central y chi cuadrado para establecer la asociación entre variables y el análisis estadístico fue realizado en programa SPSS versión 21. El grupo etario más afectado fue > 60 años edad. El promedio de edad fue de 47,1 de sexo masculino (73%). Las etiologías más frecuente de hemorragia digestiva alta fue la úlcera gástrica (41%) y la gastritis erosiva (24%) y la forma de presentación más común fue la hematemesis con el 91% (156). El 55% (94) presentó factores de riesgo, siendo los más importantes la edad > 60 años (49%) y el consumo de alcohol (28%). Se concluye que existe asociación estadísticamente significativa entre el desarrollo de complicaciones con la presencia de factores de riesgo (p = 0,0001).
