Abstract
Esta edición especial de medicina se basa en la necesidad de expresar los cambios que se han ido produciendo en los últimos diez años sobre morbilidades prevalentes en los hospitales y centros de salud tanto público como privado en la ciudad de Guayaquil, Ecuador y que son de interés en distintas áreas especialmente por el desarrollo de nuevas investigaciones que requieren modificaciones en las modales terapéuticas y tratamiento farmacológico así como técnicas de diagnóstico de imágenes y la tendencia a favorecer los tratamientos médicos quirúrgicos sobre los tratamientos conservadores.
