Analysis of public policies for the development of lively tourism in Peru

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze and identify tourism public policies, in particular, on Peruvian lively tourism context. Content analysis technique and a primary descriptive overview were undertaken. Public policies in different contexts were revised, little information to concept and origin about lively tourism has been found, especially in scientific journals. Questions were asked to guide the research: What are the policies applied to develop tourism? What is lively tourism? and Are there policies to develop experiential in Perú? - Scopus, Google Academic and university repositories database were used to research, considering articles, thesis published during 2000 – 2020 period, research included English and Spanish keywords. Studies on public policies about tourism were found, showing efforts from governments to boost and place in a better position in the tourism sector. Lively tourism has different concepts. It is essential to have a proactive and active role to develop tourism in each country and thus new touristic approaches should be considered such as lively tourism which allow to add value to rural communities, generate employment, economic independence and intercultural exchange within tourist and communities.
