Abstract

The FIRST LEGO® League - FLL is established in order to Strengthen STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) areas and soft skills in youth across the country through the use of technology, robotics and Regarding the development of solutions to a common problem, this challenge is presented with clear and structured rules proposed by the LEGO® group  rules that are extrapolated to our specific and national context, making all the proposals diverse and innovative for the local context. This dynamic has been adopted since 2017 to date, where the participation as organizer for Colombia of this event has allowed the Minute of God Corporation and more specifically the Scientific Park of Social Innovation (PCIS) to be positioned as an entity Direct social impact through technology, allowing us to carry out innovation in the field of STEM areas, directly promoting innovation, inclusion, teamwork. It is important to recognize that the skills that are strengthened in our participants are not only based on the skills that can be fostered through competition such as those previously described, but we will be influencing skills that will change their academic environment and in turn the increase in the selection of professional careers that may have some STEM component in their vocational taste. To verify the information, an affinity analysis instrument was structured which, applied to our participants, can give us a clearer perspective of participation in the FIRST LEGO® League - FLL, their likes and affinities after participating in the challenge. Among the most important results we find the increase in vocational affinity in STEM areas of our participants, the deepening in topics related to programming and robotics, the increase in affinity in teachers and coaches in educational robotics, and finally the evidence in hours of dedication to innovation projects by our participants.
